Aaron Ramsey is set to finalise his transfer to Mexican club Pumas UNAM on Tuesday, having already completed a medical and travelled to the country.

David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey flew to Mexico on Monday night ahead of his transfer for Liga MX side Pumas UNAM.
Ornstein confirmed that Ramsey has already completed a medical with the club, so it’s just the formalities to sort out now.
The Welsh international is reportedly due to agree a one-year deal on Tuesday, with an option to extend. He turned down clubs in Saudi Arabia and the UAE to join Pumas instead.

Ramsey is reportedly set to become the first high-profile British player to play in the Mexican league, having most recently been on the books with Cardiff City. His contract with the Welsh club expired last month.
The 34-year-old had been linked with the permanent manager job at Cardiff, having acted as their interim manager at the end of the 2024/25 campaign whilst injured. But he wants to continue his playing career, targeting an appearance at the World Cup next summer.
Ramsey made 10 senior appearances for Cardiff in 2024/25, amid a couple of hamstring setbacks that ultimately ended in surgery.
The hope will be that he can recover from his time out to play a consistent role with Pumas UNAM next season, followed up with an appearance at the World Cup.

It’s been six years now since Ramsey made his final appearance for Arsenal, all the way back in 2019. The former Gunner played 369 times for the club, scoring 64 goals including two in FA Cup finals – winning the competition three times.
