Arsenal remain the frontrunners for the signing of Benjamin Sesko, with RB Leipzig holding out for more than €80m and no breakthrough in talks yet.

Philipp Hinze of Sky Sport in Germany reports that RB Leipzig’s plan for Benjamin Sesko is clear. They want to generate more than €80m for the striker’s transfer, and the total package is expected to exceed that amount.
Arsenal remain the “most concretely interested party” at this stage, but there hasn’t been a breakthrough in talks yet.
Hinze adds that Leipzig remain calm, suggesting they know the player’s value. Evidently they’re not going to rush to accept the first offer they receive.

For the time being, Sesko wouldn’t be able to complete a move to Arsenal anyway. He’s still with the Slovenia national team for the international break, hoping to recover from a minor injury in time to feature against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday.
Leipzig were keen for the striker to pull out of international duty, given he’s their most valuable asset going into the summer market. But Slovenia called him up anyway for their own assessment, before leaving him out of their friendly against Luxembourg on Friday.
Once the break ends, Arsenal will be keen to do a deal as soon as they can, allowing Sesko to play a full part in pre-season.

Arsenal have been pushing for Sesko for a while now, making prior attempts to sign him in the summer of 2024 and January 2025.
The striker scored 21 goals for Leipzig in 2024/25, assisting a further six, as well as scoring five goals in eight games for Slovenia.
