Jorrel Hato’s agent has visited London this week as Arsenal and Chelsea chase his signing from Ajax, according to reports.

Gianluigi Longari reported on Monday night that developments are expected on Jorrel Hato’s case after recent contact with Arsenal, as the Gunners try to beat London rivals Chelsea to the Ajax defender’s signature.
Longari added that Hato’s agent was back in London in recent hours, having previously been in contact with Arsenal earlier this month.

Chris Wheatley confirms for The Sporting News that Hato’s agent has indeed been in London in the past few days, and he’s held recent talks with Arsenal over a potential transfer.
The Gunners reportedly remain admirers of Hato after originally attempting to sign him in 2024.
At the time, Hato was running down his contract with Ajax to its final year, and Arsenal had some hope of picking him up if he didn’t extend it. But the Dutch club ultimately convinced the young prospect to stick around, signing a new deal to 2028.

Hato has subsequently continued to push on with Ajax, making 50 club appearances in 2024/25 and another five for the senior Dutch national team.
Despite those first-team appearances, Hato is currently back with the Netherlands u21s at the Euros. His team will take on Ethan Nwaneri and the England u21s in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
