Bayern Munich are discussing the potential summer transfer of Gabriel Martinelli, adding him to their shortlist of left-wing options, according to reports.

On Sunday afternoon, Gary Jacob reported for The Times that Bayern Munich had added Gabriel Martinelli to their list of potential left-wing options as Nico Williams – their first-choice option – looks likely to join Barcelona.
Martinelli isn’t the only name on the list, however, with Bayern also considering Bradley Barcola, Rafael Leao, and Eberechi Eze.

Bild journalist Christian Falk then reported that Bayern are discussing Martinelli’s transfer, making contact with the player’s camp.
Falk claimed Martinelli has a market value of around €55m (£47.1m), and that Bayern had already considered a move for the winger during Thomas Tuchel’s time with the club.
But again, Falk added that Bayern are also looking at other options, including Luis Diaz of Liverpool.

Funnily enough, that list of options is very similar to the ones Barcelona were said to be considering last month. Spanish outlet Sport had claimed Barcelona were looking at Diaz, and considering Martinelli as an alternative.
Barcelona subsequently made significant progress on that move for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, which is clearly taking priority. But that development has seemingly pushed Bayern towards Barcelona’s former targets.
Arsenal don’t seem desperate to sell Martinelli, but for the first time in a while it seems like a genuine possibility. If Bayern made a serious offer and the Gunners felt first-choice winger target Rodrygo might be available, a deal could be possible.
