Arsenal will receive over £2.5m for the permanent transfer of Marquinhos to Cruzeiro, as well as retaining a sell-on clause in the winger’s contract.

Simon Collings reports for The Standard that Arsenal are set to receive a fee of over £2.5m for Marquinhos’ transfer to Cruzeiro, with the deal also including a sell-on clause.
Marquinhos has been on loan with Cruzeiro throughout 2025 so far, but he’s set to make his move permanent and end his association with Arsenal.

Cruzeiro have already dropped a couple of hints that Marquinhos is set to join the club permanently.
The first is that Marquinhos has been handed a new number by the club, swapping 17 for 7. The second is that the player returned to the team on Sunday night, playing a few minutes against Palmeiras.
Marquinhos had been left out of a few recent squads amid speculation around his future, with his loan deal containing a purchase clause that would become mandatory after he made a certain number of appearances.
Cruzeiro dropped him before he hit that target so they could negotiate with Arsenal and make a final decision, but his reintroduction to the team seemingly confirms reports that it’s all sorted now.

Marquinhos is now set to join Cruzeiro on a contract to 2028, with manager Leonardo Jardim giving his approval to the transfer. His £2.5m sale is roughly equivalent to what Arsenal paid in the first place, with the sell-on clause providing potential for profit later.
