Kepa Arrizabalaga’s imminent arrival could lead to Karl Hein’s departure from Arsenal this summer, with La Liga clubs interested in another loan move.

James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that Arsenal’s move for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could mean a departure for Karl Hein this summer.
After Hein’s season on loan with Real Valladolid, McNicholas writes that the 23-year-old is the subject of more loan interest from clubs in La Liga. Though Arsenal are also open to a permanent transfer.
It’s unlikely Real Valladolid are in the mix, however, having been relegated to the Spanish second tier.

Hein was a nailed-on starter for much of his loan spell with Real Valladolid, starting 28 consecutive matches in La Liga. That run ultimately ended when the Estonia captain picked up an injury over the March international break, putting him out of action for over a month.
Yet despite Valladolid suffering relegation during Hein’s absence, and having nothing left to play for when he returned to fitness, they still gave him a few more starts at the end of the season.
In the end, Hein played 32 times on loan in 2024/25, keeping five clean sheets.

At 23, Hein will probably want to keep playing regular matches in 2025/26. With David Raya holding down the starting spot at Arsenal and Kepa set to join as a backup, it’s unlikely the Estonian will get many opportunities in north London next season.
