Martin Zubimendi isn’t undergoing a medical with Arsenal just yet, according to reports, though the expectation is that he will before too long.

On Wednesday, Sami Mokbel of the BBC broke the news that Martin Zubimendi had reached the medical stage of his transfer to Arsenal, having already signed all the relevant documents to complete the move.
Mokbel suggested there was a desire to wrap up the formalities of a deal quickly, but added that all parties are relaxed about scheduling the medical.
Yet some Spanish sources, including AS, reported that Zubimendi would hold the medical within hours, with the player supposedly waiting to hold the examination in London.

Those claims have since been debunked, not least by Zubimendi himself, sharing a picture on Instagram of Spain’s Zurriola beach on Wednesday afternoon. Unless the beach has relocated, the player isn’t in London.
Cope (via Sport Witness) report that sources close to the player insist he hasn’t travelled and hasn’t scheduled a medical, though they didn’t suggest there was any danger of the move falling through.
It seems Zubimendi is getting the chance to enjoy a couple of days off on the beach before finalising his switch. The transfer window doesn’t officially open until Sunday anyway.

If Zubimendi doesn’t hold a medical in the next few days, Arsenal fans might have to be a little patient. The midfielder has been called up by Spain for the Nations League play-offs, facing France next Thursday, June 5th.
Once Zubimendi links up with the Spain squad, it seems unlikely there will be any further progress on a transfer until after the play-offs are over.
But The Times suggest Arsenal are keen to complete the medical before Zubimendi joins his national team.
