Three ways Arsenal supporters can stay busy during the summer break

We’re sorry, Arsenal supporters, but the day has finally come. The end of the season is here. And if you’re anything like us, you have no idea how you will spend your summer without cheering on our beloved Gunners.

The 2024/25 season promised so much. After back-to-back second-placed finishes in the Premier League in the two previous campaigns, this year was finally supposed to be the one. Jürgen Klopp had left Liverpool, while the gap had narrowed to Manchester City. Surely our time was now, right?

Well, we’ve all seen how that’s gone. Despite the loss of their iconic German manager, Liverpool have won the league comfortably, with Arne Slot delivering a stellar maiden campaign at Anfield despite only signing an injury-ravaged Federico Chiesa in the summer. The continental stage did provide some respite, but unfortunately, the Champions League campaign would also come to a bitter end, with Arsenal losing out to Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals.

With a third straight runners-up spot secured, the summer break is now here. And we have three ways for fellow Gooners to stay busy until the 2025/26 campaign begins in August.

Hate-Watch the FIFA Club World Cup

There will still be some football on the telly this summer. No, we don’t have the European Championships – that was last summer. We also don’t have an international World Cup – that’s next summer. We do, however, have the revamped FIFA Club World Cup, and that will surely be worth a watch, or a hate-watch, depending on what you prefer.

The main reason for the hate-watch is this. Two of Arsenal’s biggest rivals will be featuring in the form of Chelsea and Manchester City, with the latter of that duo being one of the favourites to go all the way. Another reason is that Paris Saint-Germain will be in action as well, the team that eliminated the Gunners from the Champions League and all but ended their season.

But if you plan on watching the tournament for the right reasons, then there is also plenty to be excited about. The Club World Cup has been completely revamped this summer, with 32 of the planet’s finest battling it out in the United States in a bid to be crowned world champions.

Argentina will be sending both River Plate and Boca Juniors, while their greatest-ever player, Lionel Messi, will be in action with Inter Miami. The prospect of seeing him do battle with Real Madrid one last time is simply mouthwatering. And there are plenty of other superstars on their way stateside as well.

The action draws to a close on July 13th at MetLife Stadium, where the two finalists will meet and attempt to secure the trophy and the prize it brings with it. Following that, there will only be a month or so remaining until the new Arsenal season gets underway.

Play Football-Themed Online Slot Games

Just because the end of the season is here doesn’t mean that Arsenal supporters have to leave the pitch in the rearview mirror. Of course, hate-watching their Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City in action in the revamped FIFA Club World Cup is an option.

However, we have a suggestion for you which is a little more “out there.” Playing football slot games online at Joe Fortune and similar establishments can provide the perfect opportunity to remain close to the beautiful game, even while The Gunners take the summer off. Platforms such as the Aussie giant offer a bucket load of games that are tailor-made to keep supporters occupied during periods of downtime, such as the upcoming off-season. They provide the perfect way to remain on the pitch, and all one needs is a smart device or laptop and a stable internet connection to access them.

For example, the aforementioned Joe Fortune has taken advantage of the spotlight that this summer’s Club World Cup will provide by creating games such as Hat Trick Hero and Zombie FC. Both are centered around football, with the latter a little more far-fetched than the former, but equally as entertaining. Additionally, the outlet also provides virtual football betting, which is akin to betting on the Football Manager or EA Sports FC video games in a bid to remain in tune with the beautiful game while potentially winning a bit of cash as well.

Immerse Yourself in the Rumor Mill

With the end of the season now here, the transfer window is about to reopen. Once it does, Arsenal supporters can feast on the latest gossip about rumored arrivals and departures, picking apart what’s made up, what has some truth, who would be a good fit, and who definitely wouldn’t.

There is no question about it: the Gunners simply need to sign a striker this summer. There are already rumors swirling about the likes of Viktor Gyökeres, Jonathan David, and Victor Osimhen. Is there any truth to them, and will any end up pulling on that famous red shirt next season? It’s time to find out.
