David Ornstein has suggested Arsenal are still deciding between Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres for their primary striker target this summer.

David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that it seems Arsenal are currently still deciding whether to pursue Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyokeres as their preferred target this summer.
Ornstein confirms that both players are under consideration, and it may not be as simple as one player being higher on the list, with many factors contributing to an eventual decision to make a signing.
Perhaps that explains some of the confusion over the last 24 hours, with rumours from various football insiders providing conflicting information on Arsenal’s favoured option.

First, Team News and Ticks reported on Patreon that he believes Sesko is first choice for Arsenal’s centre-forward position, with Gyokeres there as an alternative option.
But just hours later, Alex Goldberg reported that two people had informed him Gyokeres is Arsenal’s number-one target.
Goldberg added that a lot of people at Arsenal want Gyokeres, including sporting director Andrea Berta, and that a deal could be even further down the line than reported.

It could just be that one of those two sources has bad information. But it’s also possible that until Arsenal come to a firm decision one way or another, both potential targets will have backers within the club.
The picture will hopefully start to become clearer once Sporting and Arsenal end their seasons this weekend, with Leipzig’s campaign concluding last week.
Leipzig have missed out on European football, likely increasing Sesko’s desire to leave this summer. Meanwhile, Sporting have won the league and face a cup final this weekend, but Gyokeres is set to move on anyway.
