Leroy Sane and Bayern Munich intend to continue their partnership, casting doubt on the possibility that the winger will leave for Arsenal this summer.

Leroy Sane’s contract with Bayern Munich expires this summer, and he’s been linked with a free transfer move to Arsenal in recent days. But the player remains in extension talks with his current club, and they seem to be going well.
Bild report in their print edition on May 30th (p. 20) that Bayern sporting director Max Eberl met with Sane’s agent Pini Zahavi this week, who said afterwards: “It was a good meeting, a nice meal. But there’s no news (on an extension) yet.”
Bild claim that their sources inform them that both sides are fundamentally interested in a contract extension. It’s seemingly just a matter of finding a compromise they’re both happy with.

Multiple English media sources reported this week that Arsenal were considering pursuing Sane’s free transfer.
Gary Jacob and Paul Joyce wrote for The Times that Arsenal are showing strong interest in Sane, with Mikel Arteta keen to target a winger this summer.
Mike McGrath confirmed for The Telegraph that Arsenal had made enquiries over Sane, as one of a few clubs who have asked about the conditions of a deal.

Yet Sane is far from the first Bayern player to be linked with Arsenal whilst in contract negotiations. In recent times we’ve seen players like Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry quite heavily linked with the Gunners before extending their deals.
If there’s a genuine chance to sign Sane on a free transfer, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Arteta go for it. But it seems more and more likely this is just agent talk to boost the player’s wages at Bayern.
