Rodrygo has informed Real Madrid chiefs that he wants to stay, but they want to see a response from him on the pitch at the Club World Cup.

Jose Felix Diaz reports for Marca that Rodrygo has informed Real Madrid bosses Florentino Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez that his intention is to stay with the Spanish club this summer.
The player reportedly left no room for doubt, insisting that he’s determined to continue playing for Real Madrid despite the rumours surrounding his future – which include links with a move to Arsenal.
Yet that might not be the end of the story, with the club’s hierarchy concerned about his recent form. They’ve asked him for a response on the pitch and to prove he’s back to his best at the Club World Cup.

“Rodrygo is a Real Madrid player,” Alonso said this week. “He is a spectacular player and we will need him.”
So whilst Real Madrid haven’t received any offers for Rodrygo and he hasn’t shown any interest in leaving, the situation could change if he doesn’t return to form this summer.
The 24-year-old hasn’t been at his best for a while, with one goal in all competitions since the start of February. Even so, he has 23 goals and assists in 50 appearances across the campaign overall.

Arsenal appear keen on signing a winger this summer, and Rodrygo would be a top option if he’s available. At least for the time being, that’s not the case.
