Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, potentially opening the door to the departure of Arsenal target Rodrygo.

Spanish outlet Marca report that Nico Williams is emerging as a very attractive option for Real Madrid, who are seriously considering signing him this summer.
Real Madrid are impressed with Williams’ profile, and his status as a Spanish international also adds value from their perspective.
Marca claim that Williams’ arrival would mean a likely departure, with Rodrygo the leading candidate to go. The club are already discussing Rodrygo’s potential exit, amid recent links to Arsenal, though no firm decision has been made.

Not all Spanish journalists agree with Marca’s information. Joaquin Maroto of AS reports that his understanding is that Real Madrid aren’t considering Williams, and they won’t sign him this summer. But he accepts that others may have different information.
If Marca’s report is correct, it certainly increases the possibility of an Arsenal move for Rodrygo.
Even before the links to Williams, there were suggestions Rodrygo could leave, though it seems it all hinges on the player’s talks with new manager Xabi Alonso.

AS reported recently that Rodrygo is yet to make a firm decision, hesitating on what he should do. Though he has “one foot out of Real Madrid”, he’s waiting for that conversation with Alonso to find out what his plans are. After that, he’ll make his decision.
Real Madrid would reportedly be willing to negotiate for €100m (£84.2m) or more. The 24-year-old has another 23 goals and assists in 50 appearances this season, after racking up 27 goals and assists in 52 games last campaign.
