With Real Sociedad missing out on Europe and key figures departing, Takefusa Kubo’s future is now in question, and Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly watching closely.

Takefusa Kubo has thrown his Real Sociedad future into doubt after changing agents and offering a cryptic response about his next steps following the final La Liga match of the season.
Asked whether he would remain at the club, he said he intended to stay but left the door open to change. “My idea is to continue and for the team to improve but, like the manager, you never know,” he said.

Sociedad’s failure to qualify for Europe, coupled with the departures of manager Imanol Alguacil, sporting director Roberto Olabe to come at the end of June, and the expected exit of Martín Zubimendi, who appears to be heading to Arsenal, has triggered uncertainty around Kubo’s situation.
Although his contract runs until 2029 with a £51m release clause, Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly “keeps knocking on his door”.
Kubo previously rejected a four-year, £160m offer from Saudi Arabia, stating that playing against and with the best has always mattered most to him.
With Real Madrid to receive 50 percent of any future sale, they also have a vested interest in how this plays out. Sociedad paid Madrid €6.5m for Kubo in 2022.
Kubo scored seven and assisted four in 52 games this season.
