Arsenal have given the green light for Jorginho to complete his move to Flamengo in time for the Club World Cup next month, according to a report.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Jorginho is set to feature for Flamengo in the Club World Cup in June, having received the green light from Arsenal. Romano adds that the deal is now sealed.
Jorginho had previously verbally agreed to join Flamengo earlier this month, and the plan was always to sign him before the Club World Cup. But his deal with Arsenal ended on June 30th, meaning he wasn’t technically available as a free agent before the start of the tournament on June 17th.
In order to feature for Flamengo from the first game, Jorginho would have to reach an agreement with Arsenal to release him early. It seems that’s now happened.

Jorginho’s contract will reportedly be valid for three years, with a slightly delayed start date to allow him to enjoy his wedding and honeymoon at the start of next month.
The midfielder will then link up with his new team ahead of their first Club World Cup game against ES Tunis.
There’s an additional transfer window specifically to help teams involved in the Club World Cup, with the window opening on June 1st until June 10th. Jorginho will need to complete the formalities of his transfer during that period.

Jorginho spent much of the last month out of action with a chest injury, but he returned just in time for a farewell to the Arsenal fans at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The 33-year-old came off the bench for a few minutes against Newcastle United, and he’s now presumably available for the final game of the season away to Southampton.
