Sporting CP have set their price for Viktor Gyokeres this summer, with Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta a huge fan of the striker.

James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that Viktor Gyokeres remains “firmly in the frame” in terms of potential striker signings for Arsenal this summer.
McNicholas writes that Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is a huge admirer of the Sweden international, and Sporting have indicated that they’re willing to do business for less than the player’s release clause.
The expectation is reportedly that Sporting would be prepared to accept a fee in the region of £60-70m.

Previous reports have confirmed that though Arsenal are interested in Gyokeres, they haven’t made a bid to Sporting just yet.
Arsenal are aware that Sporting have the chance to win the Portuguese league this weekend, and the cup next week, and that they don’t want any distractions ahead of those two huge matches.
All the same, the Gunners have made their interest known to the player himself, offering a net salary of £7m a year over four or five years.

Alex Crook recently reported for talkSPORT that Arsenal’s Premier League rivals believe the Gunners are the favourites for Gyokeres, and that the player favours the transfer to north London. But Manchester United are in the race too, particularly given Gyokeres’ previous spell under Ruben Amorim.
The 26-year-old now has 52 goals and 13 assists in 50 games for Sporting this season, though those figures include 19 penalties.
