In spite of his inclusion in Chelsea’s squad to face Everton on Saturday, Christopher Nkunku is expected to leave this summer, with Arsenal recently showing an interest.

Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport reports that despite Christopher Nkunku returning to Chelsea’s squad against Everton on Saturday, player and club have reached a point of no return.
Nkunku was excluded from Chelsea’s previous matchday squad against Fulham, and he’s only started nine Premier League matches all season.
Hawkins reports that he’s now expected to leave this summer, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich having already shown an interest in him over the winter. The reporter suggests both are expected to return in the summer, with others also in the running.

Considering his limited chances for Chelsea this season, Nkunku’s 14 goals and five assists give him an impressive average of one direct goal contribution every 107 minutes.
Yet 10 of those 19 goal contributions came in the Europa Conference League or the Europa Conference League qualifiers, and a further four came against lower-league opposition in the domestic cups.
Only three goals and two assists were against Premier League opponents, and four of those were against Southampton.

Perhaps Nkunku just hasn’t had the chances to really impress in the big games. Even when called upon, it’s usually been after a run on the bench or as a substitute. But it’s going to be a gamble for whichever side signs him this summer.
