Viktor Gyokeres’ agents have been in April this month for talks over a potential summer transfer, with Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta a long-term admirer.

Fabrizio Romano reports (via Transfer Sector) that Viktor Gyokeres’ agents were in England in April for meetings and talks with potential future clubs. Andrea Berta is reportedly a long-term admirer, and the player remains firmly on Arsenal’s radar.
The journalist claims it’s still an open race, with other clubs interested as well, but a move is imminent and negotiations are set to continue.
Romano added on his YouTube channel last week that Gyokeres will “for sure” be leaving Sporting this summer, saying “forget about Gyokeres staying, the idea is to leave”.

Gyokeres reportedly has a verbal agreement with Sporting to leave for a bid in the region of €65-70m this summer, despite his official release clause of €100m.
Sporting and Gyokeres came to that agreement on the basis that the striker wouldn’t push for a move last summer or in January, even though the club lost their manager Ruben Amorim to Manchester United.
The striker has kept up his side of the bargain and continued to perform in Portugal, with 44 goals and 11 assists in 45 games.

David Ornstein reported for The Athletic in March that Arsenal are developing a strong interest in Gyokeres as they consider their summer recruitment options up front.
The player is expected to figure prominently among Arsenal’s potential additions in the upcoming window.
