Sami Mokbel reports for the BBC that Arsenal are among a host of clubs across Europe tracking the progress of Ecuadorian twins Holger and Edwin Quintero.

The two 15-year-olds currently play in the academy of Independiente del Valle, an Ecuadorian Serie A side.

But both have caught the eye on an international level, receiving call-ups for the Ecuador u17s. The pair made their u17 debuts in the same game against Costa Rica in August.

Edwin is a winger, with two goals and an assist in his appearances at the u17 South American Championship over the last month, whilst Holger is an attacking midfielder.

Arsenal are always on the lookout for young talents to add to their academy ranks, though it’s unclear how much they’d realistically be able to do to sign the duo at this stage.

The twins only turn 16 in August, so they’re a while away from reaching adulthood and being available for Arsenal to sign. The Gunners could agree a transfer in advance, but the duo couldn’t officially join until August 2027.

For the time being, it seems Arsenal are just keeping an eye on developments in case an opportunity arises.
