Report: Arsenal to bid €30m for Real Madrid 20yo

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a €30 million offer for Real Madrid’s 20-year-old attacking midfielder Arda Güler, according to a report from Spain carried by Defensa Central.

The highly rated Turkish international, who joined Madrid from Fenerbahçe last summer, has struggled for consistent minutes under Carlo Ancelotti despite flashes of quality throughout the season.

The report, also picked up by Turkish outlet Sabah, claims Mikel Arteta views Güler’s technical ability and intelligence as a natural fit for Arsenal’s style of play, and the club is now ready to formalise interest with a substantial offer.

Güler has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season but has averaged just 35 minutes per game, starting only seven times in La Liga.

Madrid are not thought to be actively looking to sell Güler, but the same report suggests that the club could be open to reconsidering if a significant bid arrives.

The article adds that Güler remains committed to succeeding at the Bernabéu but that his limited role could hinder his development at a critical stage in his career.

Güler has contributed three goals and seven assists in his second campaign in Spain, largely coming off the bench in matches where the result has already been decided.

His talent is not in question. His future is. And Arsenal appear prepared to test Madrid’s resolve.

The player, who turned 20 in February, is under contract until 2029, and Madrid secured him for around €20 million in a deal that included significant performance-based clauses. With the club continuing to invest heavily in midfield and attacking talent, Güler’s long-term pathway in the Spanish capital is uncertain.

As Arteta continues to reshape and deepen his squad with an eye on youth and versatility, a move for a player of Güler’s profile would be consistent with recent business. But as always with Real Madrid, the final decision may come down to whether the player pushes for the move or chooses to wait his turn.
