Arsenal are interested in signing Leroy Sane as a free agent this summer, according to a report, with the player currently running down his deal with Bayern Munich.

Bild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschaffl report that Arsenal are interested in signing Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich this summer.
Sane is currently contracted to the German club, but his deal is up in the summer, and the report claims the winger hasn’t had any negotiations over a new deal at this stage.
Falk also highlights that Mikel Arteta has worked with Sane in the past, during their time at Manchester City.

This isn’t the first time Falk has reported on Arsenal’s interest in Sane, writing in November that Arteta was very keen on a move for the winger.
The Arsenal boss even reportedly wanted to sign Sane in 2023, but at the time, there was no chance of the move going ahead. Now that Sane is approaching free agency, the situation is very different.
Sane’s family were reportedly unhappy during his time in Manchester, and they considered moving to London before his Bayern transfer came about.

If Arsenal are genuinely interested in Sane, they can open negotiations right now. The player is already in the final six months of his deal, so he could sign a pre-contract agreement to make a summer move.
But after the recent claims of Arsenal interest in Joshua Kimmich, only for Kimmich to extend his contract with Bayern, fans should take this update with a grain of salt. It certainly appears as though Arsenal’s name is being used in contract negotiations a lot at the moment.
Sane has scored eight goals and assisted four for Bayern this season, a goal or assist every 143 minutes. He also continues to play for Germany, scoring in one of his two appearances for the team in November.
