In spite of previous claims to the contrary, new reports suggest Benjamin Sesko has a genuine release clause in his contract this summer, not just a verbal agreement.

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko is one of Arsenal’s key transfer targets at centre-forward this summer, despite the player signing a new deal with his current club last year.
The reason that deal hasn’t put the Gunners off is that reports suggested Sesko still had a verbal agreement to leave for the right price in 2025. But new claims suggest he’ll actually have a formal release clause this summer.
Sky Germany (via GGFN) report that Sesko has a performance related release clause valid this summer. The clause varies based on playing time, goals, and assists, and it’s currently set at €70m (£58.8m).

In the best-case scenario for Leipzig, the clause would rise to €80m (£67.2m). The report adds that Sesko is keen to leave this summer, with Arsenal among his suitors.
The 21-year-old has 17 goals in all competitions this season, including four in eight Champions League appearances.
Sesko is also a regular for Slovenia, scoring five goals in six games for them this campaign.

Leipzig still have quite a lot to play for before the season ends, currently sitting three points outside of the top four in the Bundesliga as well as making the semi-final of the DFB Pokal.
With a semi-final against VfB Stuttgart and a potential final against either Arminia Bielefeld or Bayer Leverkusen, Leipzig will fancy their chances as much as anyone else.
