Arsenal are set to wear an unusual kit combination for their Champions League last-16 first-leg match against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday.

Arsenal Fixture News report that Arsenal will be playing in their black shirts for the upcoming trip to Eindhoven on Tuesday, but the team won’t be wearing the black shorts that usually accompany the away shirt.

Instead, the team will be wearing white shorts, as PSV wear black shorts during their home games.

UEFA are generally a bit stricter about kit clashes than the Premier League, as we’ve seen in various fixtures in the past.

The Gunners wore red shorts (instead of white) with their red shirts for a game against Qarabag in 2018, seemingly purely to avoid a clash with Qarabag’s grey goalkeeping kit.

Before that, the Gunners wore their away kit for a home game against FC Basel in the 2016/17 Champions League, because Basel’s home and away kits both contained either red or white.

Those two fixtures are good omens for Tuesday’s match though, as Arsenal won them both without conceding a goal. Another win to nil would be the ideal result this midweek.
