Arsenal watching 20yo Dortmund winger closely with summer transfer in mind

Arsenal have been watching Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens closely in recent months, and they could yet emerge as his strongest suitor, according to a report.

Graeme Bailey of TBR Football reports that sources claim Arsenal could yet emerge as the strongest suitor for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, having added him to their list of summer targets.

The Gunners have reportedly been watching Bynoe-Gittens closely in recent months, and a move to England appeals to the player. Current club Borussia Dortmund have also informed the 20-year-old and his camp that they’ll allow him to leave if their ~£70m valuation is met.

With Dortmund struggling in the Bundesliga and likely to miss out on Champions League qualification, they’ll need to make some sales this summer.

Arsenal aren’t the only team in the race for Bynoe-Gittens, with TBR Football claiming Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Aston Villa have all been keeping tabs on the player’s progress. But perhaps none of them need forward additions as badly as Mikel Arteta does.

Bynoe-Gittens has 11 goals and four assists in 35 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this season.

Though the team are struggling domestically, they have at least reached the Champions League last-16, in which they’ll face LOSC Lille.

Sky Sports Germany also linked Arsenal with a move for Bynoe-Gittens in late 2024, suggesting some English clubs had already opened talks with the player’s camp.

At the time, the suggestion was that the winger wasn’t planning a summer transfer in 2025, though Dortmund’s poor run of form and slide down the table may have changed that view.
