Arne Slot insists Liverpool are focused solely on themselves, dismissing any concern over Arsenal’s results as the Premier League title race nears its conclusion.

Arne Slot has made it clear that Liverpool are focused solely on themselves and not keeping track of Arsenal’s results, as the Premier League title race reaches its decisive stage.
While Mikel Arteta’s side remain theoretically in the chase, Slot insists his team’s primary concern is their own performance, not the fortunes of their nearest challengers.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Southampton, which seems certain to provide another three points unless former Arsenal man, Aaron Ramsdale can pull off a one-man miracle, Slot dismissed any notion that he is preoccupied with Arsenal’s position in the table.
“So, no, we’re not looking at all at the results of Arsenal,” he said. “We look at our own, and we know we have to be on top of our game because if we’re on top of our game, we mostly win by one-goal margins.”

While Liverpool are closing in on a record-equalling 20th league title, Slot has tempered any premature celebrations, acknowledging that his team is still some way off from reaching the level of past dominant sides. “We’ve seen a team doing that in recent years a few times and longer ago, Liverpool also had that, after half an hour, it was already 3-0,” he said.
“We’re not that team yet. It’s something we’re trying to do, and therefore it’s something we need to improve a lot.”
With Arsenal trailing in second place, they would need a flawless run-in combined with an unlikely Liverpool collapse to close the gap.
However, Slot has refused to engage with discussions about pressure from North London, maintaining that Liverpool’s destiny is in their own hands, which it is.
Any talk of a ‘race’ at this point is merely an attempt to keep things interesting.
