Arsenal could sell forward this summer unless something changes

Arsenal will entertain offers for Leandro Trossard this summer if he doesn’t extend his contract, according to a report.

Speaking at the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust meeting this week, journalist Sami Mokbel reported that if Arsenal can’t get Leandro Trossard to agree to a new contract, they’ll listen to offers for him this summer.

Trossard’s current deal expires in 2026, so the upcoming windows will be Arsenal’s final chances to bring in any money for the 30-year-old assuming an extension can’t be agreed.

Mokbel added that Arsenal had also planned to listen to offers for Gabriel Jesus, but that summer exit won’t happen due to his injury.

Reports during the January transfer window suggested Arsenal were set to reopen contract talks with Trossard after the window closed.

According to the claims, a meeting was scheduled with the Arsenal hierarchy, who were keen to reward his performances with an extension.

Arsenal initially began talks with Trossard in late 2024, proposing a new deal with a significant pay rise taking his weekly wage into six figures. The Gunners had turned down a transfer offer from Saudi Arabia over the summer.

It’s a good thing Arsenal chose to hold onto Trossard, as he’s now their only fit centre-forward option. Barring playing Raheem Sterling out of position or calling up a youth player, Trossard is the sole alternative to the injured Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

Trossard may yet be on the move this summer, but right now Arsenal desperately need his help on the pitch.
