RB Leipzig are hoping to spark a bidding war for Benjamin Sesko this summer, despite having a gentleman’s agreement to leave him leave for under £60m.

German outlet Sport Bild (via GGFN) report that RB Leipzig are still hoping to bring in around €100m (£83.3m) for star striker Benjamin Sesko this summer.
Sport Bild report that there’s no formal release clause in Sesko’s current deal with Leipzig, but there is a gentleman’s agreement between player and club that he can leave for at least €70m (£58.3m).
Yet since this isn’t a formal clause, Leipzig are hoping a bidding war could push the fee much higher.

Arsenal are expected to be one of the primary clubs in the mix for Sesko this summer, having tried to sign the player in 2024. The Gunners were ready to pay the fee for the Slovenia international in the last summer window, but the final decision was always up to Sesko himself.
Sesko opted for one more year with Leipzig, signing a new contract, and the Bundesliga club were completely unwilling to do business in the January transfer window.
As a result, a potential second move has had to wait until the end of the current campaign.

Sesko has scored 15 goals and assisted four in 30 appearances for Leipzig this season. The Slovenia international has also been performing well for his country, with five goals in his last six games.
Still just 21 years old, Sesko is clearly a big attacking talent, and Arsenal appear set to try to add him to their ranks.
