Arsenal will head into next month aiming to keep themselves on course to win the Premier League and Champions League this season.
With the domestic cups now out of the equation, the Gunners can focus their efforts on winning the two trophies that truly matter to top clubs.
Given the size of the club’s global fanbase, online sportsbooks will likely be inundated with wagers on Arsenal completing a memorable double.
That will undoubtedly be the case in Africa, where the club has a massive following. Several betting sites in Nigeria face a massive payout if Arsenal win two trophies.
March is guaranteed be a pivotal month for the club, with four eye-catching fixtures scheduled to take place in the Premier League and Champions League.
While winning the domestic title remains a possibility, the Gunners face an extremely difficult route to glory in UEFA’s top club competition.
PSV Eindhoven – Champions League – March 4/5 & 11/12
Arsenal have been drawn PSV Eindhoven in the last-16 of the Champions League and will fancy their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals.
PSV needed extra-time to see off Juventus in their knockout round play-off tie and it would be surprising if they cause the Gunners too many problems.
The two sides met in the group stage of last season’s competition, with Arsenal recording a 4-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium before drawing 1-1 in the Netherlands.
Things will get much tougher if Arsenal progress to the next round, with Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid awaiting at that stage of the competition.
Their potential semi-final opponents could be Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Club Brugge or Aston Villa, who were all drawn in the same half of the draw.
Manchester United (A) – Premier League – March 9
Manchester United went into the 2024/25 campaign with similar expectations to Arsenal, but things have not gone to plan for them.
While the Gunners are in contention for the Premier League title, Man United are closer to the relegation zone than the top four.
Manager Ruben Amorim has failed to improve the club’s fortunes in the league since replacing Erik ten Hag last November.
However, they could still win the Europa League and FA Cup, so will be eager to start building some momentum over the next few weeks.
This game is a potential banana skin for Arsenal, but they are perfectly capable of picking up three points if they produce their best form at Old Trafford.
Chelsea (H) – Premier League – March 16
Chelsea raised hopes they could mount a sustained title challenge towards the end of last year, but a dip in form has left them battling to stay in the top four mix.
Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in November, with a late howler by Leandro Trossard scuppering their hopes of picking up three points.
William Saliba’s cut back picked out Trossard inside the six-yard box, but he miscued his effort and sent the ball wide. Frustratingly, Kai Havertz was in a better position to score.
Chelsea have the ability to cause Arsenal problems in this fixture, especially given its proximity to the Gunners’ second Champions League meeting with PSV.
However, having triumphed 5-0 in the corresponding fixture last April, Arsenal will fancy their chances of keeping their Premier League title bid on track.
