Mikel Arteta is reportedly considering significant changes to Arsenal’s attacking lineup this summer, with the potential sale of either Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli to fund new acquisitions.

According to the Daily Mirror, both players have attracted interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, presenting the Gunners with an opportunity to reshape their forward options.
Trossard, 30, has been a valuable asset since his £27 million transfer in January 2023, contributing 23 goals and 19 assists. Despite his impact, contract negotiations have yet to yield an extension beyond the end of next season.
Martinelli, 23, currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury, has struggled to replicate his previous form, yet remains a sought-after talent in the transfer market and his sale would not be well received by the majority of Arsenal fans.

Arteta’s ambition to revamp the squad includes targeting a high-profile striker and winger.
While Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is admired, a more feasible option appears to be RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško, potentially available for £55 million. Additionally, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo are under consideration to strengthen the flanks.

The anticipated departures of midfielders Jorginho and Thomas Partey, both out of contract this summer, further underscore the club’s intent to overhaul its squad. A £51 million deal for Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi is reportedly in place to strengthen the midfield.
Defensive adjustments are also on the horizon, with Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko potentially deemed surplus to requirements.
Concurrently, Arsenal is in the process of appointing a new sporting director following Edu’s departure last year. Interim Jason Ayto is a candidate, alongside Roberto Olabe, formerly of Real Sociedad, and ex-Manchester United and Newcastle United director Dan Ashworth but the favourite is said to be Andrea Berta, who could be appointed as early as March 2025.
