Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly preparing to go head-to-head in the pursuit of two of England’s brightest young talents, with Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg apparently emerging as prime targets for both clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Sunderland duo have drawn increasing attention from Premier League scouts, and their rapid development in the Championship has placed them firmly on the radar of Mikel Arteta and Ruben Amorim.

Jobe, the younger brother of Jude Bellingham, has flourished since his move from Birmingham City, becoming a key presence in Sunderland’s midfield despite being just 19 years old.

His ability to dictate play, contribute in attack, and operate as a dynamic No.8 has made him an attractive proposition for top-flight clubs, with both Arsenal and Manchester United seeing him as a player who could thrive at the highest level.

Alongside him, Rigg—who is just 17 years old—has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in English football.

Already a starter after breaking into Sunderland’s first team, he has demonstrated an impressive level of maturity, tactical intelligence, and technical quality, attributes that have made him a priority for Manchester United, who see him as a long-term midfield investment.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are closely monitoring his progress as they look to secure young talent capable of integrating into their system in the years ahead.

Despite the growing interest, Sunderland will not part with their prized assets easily. The club is well aware of the Premier League’s pulling power, but their priority is to retain both players for as long as possible.

However, with the inevitable pressure from England’s elite, the summer transfer window could mark a decisive moment in the future of both Bellingham and Rigg.

Bellingham is currently valued at €18m, one-tenth of his brother’s €180m tag, and is under contract until 2028, while Rigg is valued at €12m with a deal lasting until 2027.
