Arsenal have scheduled contract extension talks with Leandro Trossard for after the January transfer window, according to a report.

Charlie Gordon reports for Express Sport that Arsenal are set to open new contract talks with Leandro Trossard, but not until after the January transfer window.

Gordon claims a meeting has been scheduled, with Trossard’s current terms running until the summer of 2026 and the Arsenal hierarchy keen to reward his performances with an extension.

The same report claims that after Saudi Pro League clubs showed interest in Trossard last summer, they’ve made further enquiries this month. But it seems both the player and his current club are keen to continue their current association.

James McNicholas previously reported for The Athletic that potential suitors for Trossard were likely to get the same response in January that Al-Ittihad received on summer deadline day.

Trossard remains an important part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, and the club don’t intend to sell in the winter window.

The 30-year-old signed a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2023 worth £90,000-a-week, but a new contract would reportedly send that wage into six figures.

Trossard can’t complain about his minutes at Arsenal this season so far, playing 30 times and making 19 starts. With Bukayo Saka currently absent through injury, there should be plenty more starts available in the coming weeks and months.
