Mathys Tel is likely to move to the Premier League, with Arsenal interested, but the race is very open and it’s not certain whether the forward will move on loan or a permanent deal.

Interest in Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel has been hotting up in recent days, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the player has decided to leave his current club in the January transfer window.
Sami Mokbel reports for the Daily Mail that Arsenal are monitoring Tel as an alternative to Ollie Watkins, who currently looks likely to remain with Aston Villa.
But Mokbel adds that Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Villa themselves are all interested in Tel as well.

Spurs have pushed the hardest for a permanent transfer, with Sky Germany reporting on Friday morning that Spurs and Bayern have reached a verbal agreement for a £50m transfer. But Tel hasn’t decided whether to accept that offer.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are pushing for a loan move, and John Cross reports for the Mirror that Tel is currently leaning towards a loan over a permanent exit.
That would give United an edge over both Spurs and Arsenal, with the Gunners preferring some kind of purchase clause in the deal.

19-year-old Tel has played just 458 minutes for Bayern this season, providing one assist. The forward scored or assisted 16 goals in 1,406 minutes last season, but it seems his form is starting to suffer for his inconsistent gametime.
As well as playing at centre-forward, Tel can also operate on the wings, so he’d make a versatile addition if Arsenal can get it done.
