Arsenal are preparing for a challenging FA Cup third-round tie against Manchester United, with Mikel Arteta’s side seeking to get back to strong domestic form. As holders of the competition, United are eager to defend their title and bounce back from their 2-0 Premier League defeat at the Emirates earlier in the season.

Here’s a closer look at the Red Devils’ squad ahead of Sunday’s 15:00 GMT kickoff.

Ruben Amorim, United’s head coach, confirmed that Altay Bayindir will start in goal, replacing Andre Onana.

Bayindir featured in United’s dramatic 4-3 Carabao Cup loss to Tottenham Hotspur. Amorim explained, “I don’t rotate because I want to rotate. I’m trying to find the best solutions to win the game. I put the guys in who are more fresh to cope with the demands of the game. The goalkeeper position is different, so it’s a good question. Altay will play.”

Marcus Rashford is also available for selection after recovering from illness. However, United remain without Victor Lindelöf, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount, all sidelined with injuries.

For Arsenal, the absence of key players like Bukayo Saka, Ben White, Ethan Nwaneri, and Takehiro Tomiyasu poses a significant challenge. You can read more about their injuries here.

This match marks the 16th FA Cup meeting between the two clubs, the second most frequent fixture in the competition’s history while Arsenal have won 14 FA Cups while United have won 13.

United and Arsenal have knocked each other out of the FA Cup more than any other side.
