Patrick Berger of Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund are considering a loan move for Oleksandr Zinchenko, with initial talks having already taken place.

Arsenal are willing to negotiate, but Berger reports that the Gunners want a permanent transfer or an obligation to buy.

The club are looking for around €20m (£16.9m) to do a deal, with Zinchenko under contract until 2026.

Zinchenko isn’t the only option on Dortmund’s shortlist, with the club also holding an interest in Chelsea’s Renato Veiga. But their pursuit of Zinchenko is long term, having also talked about a deal last summer.

Sky Sports News add that there’s been no formal approach for Zinchenko yet, but the player is keen to leave and Arsenal are open to allowing him to go.

With the Gunners signing Riccardo Calafiori in the summer and promoting Myles Lewis-Skelly, and with Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu also capable of playing at left-back and Kieran Tierney still around for now, there’s no great pressure on the club to cling onto Zinchenko.

Zinchenko has made 12 appearances for Arsenal this season, including just three starts in all competitions. Part of that has been due to injury, but Mikel Arteta is also just relying on other players at the moment.
