Arsenal are among the clubs eyeing up a potential free transfer for Dani Olmo, should Barcelona fail to register the midfielder for the second half of the season.

Paul Hirst reports for The Times that Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal are all on alert amid news that Dani Olmo could be available for a free transfer in the January window.
Barcelona signed Olmo for £51m over the summer, but they could only register him for the first half of the campaign due to their financial difficulties.
La Liga have since refused Barcelona’s request to extend the player’s registration to the end of the season, and the courts have rejected their case against the league on the issue.

Unless Barcelona can resolve the problem in the next three days, Olmo will be able to leave in January. The club will have their appeal heard on Monday.
There are still other options. If Barcelona can raise the funds, they’ll then be free to register Olmo again. But right now they are scrambling.
Arsenal are reportedly one of the player’s long-term admirers, so it’s not impossible they might look to sign the 26-year-old in January if he’s a free agent.

Olmo has made 15 appearances for Barcelona, scoring six goals and assisting one more. He has a contract until 2030, but that will only remain valid if his current club can find a solution before December 31st.
