Arsenal club captain Martin Odegaard is back in training with the club after a two-month absence, according to reports.
Simon Collings reports for The Standard that Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard is involved in training as the Gunners prepare for their match against Inter Milan on Wednesday.
As usual when it comes to Champions League matches, Arsenal are holding an open training session the day before the game, and Odegaard could be seen taking part with his teammates.
The midfielder has been out of action since the September international break, but he’s finally closing in on a return to competitive football.
Collings adds that Odegaard has been pushing to be available for the Inter clash and he’s been training in some capacity for a few weeks now, but Arsenal will be wary about rushing him back.
Mikel Arteta confirmed last week that Odegaard had reached the stage where he could do “certain work” with the squad, adding: “Let’s see how he deals with pain, if he moves naturally enough, if he is physically now at the level that requires him to compete.
“But with the workrate and the hours he’s put in, I would be surprised that the moment he starts training with us, we don’t say that he looks ready.”
Odegaard made three appearances for Arsenal in the opening three games of the 2024/25 campaign, but he’s missed the last 12 in all competitions.
This would be an ideal time to return, with games away to Inter Milan and Chelsea this week and Arsenal struggling for form.
