Arsenal are lining up a move for West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus as a potential replacement for Leandro Trossard, according to a report.
Clive Hetherington and Daniel Orme report for the Mirror that Arsenal are looking at a move for Mohammed Kudus of West Ham United.
The Mirror claim Arsenal have a long-standing interest in the player, and they looked into a move for him before he joined West Ham. But they could now be set to reignite that interest ahead of 2025.
Part of the driving force behind that decision is reportedly that Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are eyeing a £40m deal for Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal already turned down a bid for Trossard from Al-Ittihad in the summer, but perhaps an increased offer and more time to source a replacement could convince the Gunners to reconsider.
Trossard would also need to reconsider, however, as reports back in September suggested he wouldn’t have been interested in the transfer even if Arsenal had been.
Kudus won’t come cheap, with the Mirror touting a £90m valuation on the 24-year-old.
At the time of writing, Kudus is serving a suspension for a red card he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur.
The winger had scored twice in two games before the sending-off, but he’s been banned for three games and could be set to miss even more after an FA charge for an incident after the card was shown.
Arsenal will be watching developments on that suspension with interest, as a two-game extension to the ban would see Kudus miss West Ham’s game against the Gunners.
