Frida Maanum has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month after her excellent start to the 2024/25 season.

The Arsenal midfielder scored two vital goals, helping Arsenal secure a draw against Manchester City and a win against Leicester City.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s WSL fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion has been rescheduled for November 8 at Emirates Stadium. In addition, eight young Arsenal players have earned call-ups to England’s Under-17 squad for the FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup.

Frida Maanum has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month for her impressive start to the 2024/25 season. The Arsenal midfielder scored two goals in two league appearances, opening Arsenal’s WSL account against Manchester City and netting the only goal in a win over Leicester City.

Maanum’s fellow nominees include Grace Clinton (Manchester United), Bethany England (Tottenham Hotspur), Johanna Rytting-Kaneryd (Chelsea), Kiko Seike (Brighton), and Millie Turner.

In other news, Arsenal Women’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion has been rescheduled.

The match will now take place at Emirates Stadium on Friday, November 8, with a 7pm kick-off. Originally scheduled for Sunday, November 10, tickets purchased for the original date remain valid for the new fixture.

Finally, eight young Arsenal players have been called up to represent England Women’s Under-17s for the October international break. The squad, captained by Laila Harbert, includes Hope McSheffrey, Eva Gray, Sophie Harwood, Niamh Peacock, Cecily Wellesley-Smith, Isabella Fisher, and Omotara Junaid.

The team will compete at the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic, starting against Kenya on October 17, followed by matches against Mexico and Korea DPR.

The tournament’s knockout stage begins after the group phase, with the final set for November 3. England WU17 head coach Natalie Henderson highlighted the invaluable experience gained from competing in a World Cup at a young age.
