Following his recent injury withdrawal during Liverpool’s match against Crystal Palace, there were fears that goalkeeper Alisson could be out for at least a few weeks of football.

Sky Sports News have since confirmed that Alisson will be out until after the next international break in November, which is certainly bad news for Arne Slot’s side.

Alisson has the best save success rate in the Premier League this season, and Squawka report that he’s prevented the most expected goals in the league so far.

The goalkeeper is now set to miss Liverpool’s matches against Chelsea (H), Arsenal (A), Brighton (H), and Aston Villa (H) in the league, as well as missing Champions League matches against RB Leipzig (A) and Bayer Leverkusen (H).

Liverpool also face Brighton (A) in the League Cup on October 30th, but Alisson likely would have been rotated for that match anyway.

The 32-year-old’s earliest potential return date is Southampton (A) on November 24th, and Liverpool will be very hopeful he’s back by then. They host Real Madrid at Anfield three days later.

Alexis Mac Allister also picked up a knock against Crystal Palace, but he’s travelled with Argentina for the international break anyway.

Though Mac Allister hasn’t featured for Argentina yet and he’s been training separately, the expectation is that he’ll have long returned to action by the time Arsenal face Liverpool on October 27th.
