PSG and agent hope Arsenal make move for Kolo Muani

Paris Saint-Germain and Randal Kolo Muani‘s agent are hoping Arsenal will make a move for the striker this January, as the player’s situation in Paris becomes increasingly untenable.

That’s according to L’Équipe, who report that the 25-year-old striker is growing frustrated with his lack of playing time and could be on the move this winter.

Kolo Muani at the point of no return Remaining on the bench in Marseille, the Parisian striker, although convincing with the Blues in October, sees his situation at the club deteriorate. More than ever, the January transfer window will be lively for him. L'Équipe29 Oct 2024 Randal Kolo Muani (left), here at training with Vitinha on the eve of Arsenal-PSG (2-0, October 1), where he had entered in the 64th minute, remained on the bench Sunday in Marseille (3-0). The Parisian dressing room is bathed by a sweet euphoria. The "who does not jump is Marseillais" are taken up by players and staff. Randal Kolo Muani, wide smile, participates in this collective joy born from the victory at the Velodrome (3-0), Sunday. However, the striker (25 years old) has just gone through another frustrating evening. One more. Already very precarious over the first two months of the season, the situation of the vice-world champion this time becomes almost untenable. Beyond his unavailability against Strasbourg (4-2, October 19th), linked to a sprained left ankle, the ex-Nantes player, despite performing very well in blue during the October gathering, has just had three meetings which feed a little more the idea of a definitive deterioration of his status in club. Released at half-time in Nice (1-1, October 6th), "RKM" was content with nine minutes against PSV in C1 last Tuesday (1-1) – on the left, a position in which he is not comfortable – and did not walk the lawn Sunday against OM. And this despite a match scenario that lent itself to his entry and a potential confidence recovery. If we refer to the words of Luis Enrique last year ("My actions will say more than my words"), the technicianaccounts no more about his player. Is the striker doomed to this status as a substitute for the substitute until January? The situation is quite paradoxical since Luis Enrique, again last month, had informed him that in the absence of Gonçalo Ramos, he would have responsibilities to assume. In fact, however, Kolo Muani must be content with crumbs. The player, impacted by his poor performance last year, has been aware for weeks that his profile does not match his coach's game project. If, officially, he will comply with the choice of PSG, Kolo Muani knows that in the medium term, he cannot be content with such a short playing time. The Parisian leaders had been reassuring last summer and said they were convinced that after a year of adaptation, his time would come. This discourse has evolved recently. Internally, if we assume 100% of the collegiate decision to recruit himforfive years in the summer of 2023, we take note of the current situation of the player. By letting filter the idea that Kolo Muani, in another context, will find all the qualities that made him a recruit at € 90 million. A way to acknowledge the failure of the operation and prepare for his departure this winter. Exchanges with his entourage took place. In this eminently symbolic file, the club of the capital is not determined to sell off its player. Its performance in blue allows it to maintain a certain rating. Valued between €40 and €50 million Its current valuation fluctuates between €40 and €50 million. A substantial amount and not very accessible on this dreary 2024-2025 market. Among the big European clubs, there are a handful who can imagine - even in the form of a loan with an option to buy – paying such an amount. And the market for 9 will be limited in January. In parallel with Borussia Dortmund, Juventus Turin had surveyed the player's entourage last summer, without going any further, in particular for lack of resources. A lead to consider? While waiting to find out the identity of the future Manchester United technician (see page 20), can Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta, who often uses Kai Havertz in 9 despite the presence of Gabriel Jesus, be tempted by a move this winter? Kolo Muani is there in this fall of 2024. Waiting for the light to appear... Epts diff.

Kolo Muani, who joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in summer 2023 for around €90m, has seen his role significantly reduced in recent months.

Despite showing his ability during October’s international fixtures with France (scored two, assisted one), he remained on the bench during PSG’s recent 3-0 win over Marseille, and was limited to just nine minutes in the Champions League clash against PSV.

His limited involvement has prompted speculation that a January exit may be on the cards.

L’Équipe highlight Kolo Muani’s growing dissatisfaction, noting that his profile does not appear to fit PSG coach Luis Enrique‘s current tactical plans.

Kolo Muani’s valuation is now estimated between €40m and €50m, with PSG reluctant to sell at a loss but open to exploring options. The striker is reportedly keen for more playing time, aware that his prospects at the club have dimmed despite his initial promise.

PSG and Kolo Muani’s agent are reportedly hopeful that Arsenal could step in.

With Mikel Arteta often deploying Kai Havertz as a makeshift striker and Gabriel Jesus continuing to struggle with injuries and form, a January addition to strengthen the forward line could be on the cards.

Kolo Muani’s versatility—able to play both as a central striker and on the wing—makes him an attractive prospect for the Gunners.

Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have also previously expressed interest in the French forward, but financial constraints have so far made a deal unlikely.

As the January transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will make a decisive move to bring Kolo Muani to the Emirates, offering him the opportunity for a fresh start and regular game time.
