Arsenal weren’t the only ones to come away frustrated from Saturday’s fixture against Brighton, with James Milner picking up a hamstring injury.

James Milner is reportedly set for a scan on a hamstring injury suffered against Arsenal this weekend, with the midfielder going down in the early stages of the first half.

38-year-old Milner was starting his third Premier League game in a row for Brighton, but he lasted just 17 minutes before being replaced by Yasin Ayari.

Muscle issues have been a big issue for Milner in recent years, with the former Liverpool and Manchester City man missing 25 games during the 2023/24 campaign through injury.

Milner’s last injury was in late January, and he didn’t return to action for the remainder of the season.

A similar length of absence this time around would see the Brighton man back in action around Christmas time, so he’ll hope the scans bring better news.

On the upside for Brighton, they have the international break to assess the problem and give Milner a rest. They then face Ipswich Town in their first game back, before taking on Wolves in the League Cup in the following midweek.
