Arsenal have confirmed that Bukayo Saka has won their August Player of the Month award.
Earlier this week, Arsenal confirmed the four players in the running for their August Player of the Month award, with Kai Havertz, David Raya, William Saliba, and Bukayo Saka all nominated.
Havertz provided two goals and an assist in his three August appearances, leading the line impressively for the Gunners.
If not for Declan Rice’s red card, he likely would have helped Arsenal to three wins, having given his team the lead against Brighton. He also scored the opening goal against Wolves.
Raya had a fantastic month, keeping two clean sheets and winning 10-man Arsenal a point against Brighton. He made vital saves in all three matches to ensure the Gunners started the new season in strong form.
Saliba was also a key factor in Arsenal only conceding once in three games, with no one making more tackles than his 14 in August. His partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes is proving just as effective in the new season as the old one.
But Saka ended up winning the vote by providing assists in all three matches, as well as scoring against Wolves. Only Erling Haaland beat his four goal contributions in August across the entire league.
Arsenal report that Saka earned 42% of the vote and just narrowly beat Raya to victory.
Saka won the Arsenal Player of the Month award twice in 2023/24, and he’s already opened his account for the new campaign with this August win.
