Arsenal have completed the deadline-day loan of Michelle Agyemang to Brighton, with the Gunners youngster signing with the south-coast club for the current campaign.

“We’re delighted to welcome Michelle to the club,” Brighton coach Dario Vidosic said of the move. “She is a goalscorer and an excellent playmaker.

“It’s clear to see her talent and potential in the game and she will give us another exciting option in attack.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what she can add to our team this season.”

Tim Stillman reports that Brighton’s interest in Agyemang long precedes deadline day, but Arsenal wanted to keep her around for the UWCL qualifying round one.

With that round now completed and no further time left to delay, Arsenal gave the loan the go-ahead.

The move should give Agyemang a good opportunity for regular minutes, particularly given the outgoings at Brighton this summer.

If the 18-year-old can make herself a starter with her loan club, she should return with a lot of experience under her belt.

She’ll certainly have more opportunities than at Arsenal, where Jonas Eidevall already has various options at centre-forward this season.

Arsenal have wished Agyemang luck for the season, and Gunners fans will be keeping a close eye on her progress.
