Arsenal have returned from their pre-season tour of the United States to continue training at London Colney, with the final five senior internationals returning to the training ground late last week.

Yet there are still a few players from the tour who continue to be involved in first-team training ahead of the last couple of pre-season friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Lyonnais this week.

Goalkeepers Tommy Setford and Alexei Rojas continue to train with the senior side, which is unsurprising given Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya have only just returned to training.

Then Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Ayden Heaven, and Josh Nichols have all been pictured in training sessions in the last few days, after their positive cameos for the senior side on the U.S. tour.

Mikel Arteta has a lot of senior players to get up to speed over the final couple of pre-season friendlies, so it may be difficult to offer too many minutes to the youth group.

But it’s noteworthy that they haven’t immediately gone back to the u21 setup following their return to London.

Arsenal are unlikely to have squad space for six youth players on a regular basis this season, but there could be room for at least one or two. The sextet still in training are getting plenty of opportunities to prove they deserve those spots.

In other news, Karl Hein also remains in training with the first team as Arsenal try to secure him a loan for the 2024/25 campaign.
