Wolves are hoping to sign Aaron Ramsdale on loan with a £25m option to buy, but Arsenal are holding out for a permanent deal or a purchase obligation.
John Cross of the Mirror reports that Arsenal are currently set to loan out Aaron Ramsdale, with Wolves keen on a deal with an option to buy set at £25m for next summer.
But Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are still rejecting all loan proposals as it stands, and the Gunners only want a permanent transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy.
Romano adds that the overall feeling from sources in the industry is that Ramsdale will leave Arsenal before the end of the window. It’s just not clear exactly where he’ll end up, nor the terms of his departure.
There are four clubs seemingly in the mix for Ramsdale, with Wolves joining Bournemouth, Southampton, and Ajax.
Wolves and Ajax have both seen initial loan offers turned down by Arsenal, whilst there have been no reports of official bids from the other two clubs.
There have also been some claims that Arsenal would want a large loan fee to let Ramsdale leave on a temporary basis, perhaps as high as £6m.
Ramsdale is yet to feature for Arsenal since returning from England duty, with David Raya playing both pre-season friendlies upon their returns and then starting the opening game against Wolves.
Raya put in a very strong performance against Wolves, making a couple of great saves and playing out from the back effectively as usual. It doesn’t look like Mikel Arteta is set to change his thinking on the number-one spot at the club.
