Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber is back in training with the team after his recent injury absence, with days remaining until the new season kicks off.
Jurrien Timber has been involved with Arsenal since the beginning of pre-season, and he featured in the first couple of games of the tour of the United States.
But the defender was then ruled out against Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen, and Lyon with a slight foot injury.
The good news is that he’s now finally returned to training, pictured in a few photos of a session that were released by the club on Wednesday morning.
Mikel Arteta had already suggested that the injury was nothing too serious, speaking at the weekend.
“It’s fine,” Arteta said of Timber’s absence. “He’s been doing some individual work, that’s clear now. So we expect him to be ready to train with the group in the next week, because he has no reaction. So quite positive.”
Right on schedule, Timber is now back with the group and training again. It seems unlikely he’ll slot straight back into the starting lineup for Arsenal against Wolves on Saturday, but with any luck he’ll be available from the bench.
As for Arsenal’s other injured players, Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to be out for weeks, Kieran Tierney also isn’t expected back imminently, and there’s no update on Fabio Vieira’s slight hip issue yet. All three will likely miss this weekend’s fixture.
