Sheffield United are making a move to sign former Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Premier League Ipswich Town are also in the mix.
Journalist Alan Nixon reports for his Patreon that Sheffield United are in talks to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on loan from Besiktas.
According to the report, Oxlade-Chamberlain could be open to a top Championship move, and Besiktas are willing to let him leave this summer.
Earlier this week, Joe Krishnan had reported Ipswich Town were also interested in a loan deal for Oxlade-Chamberlain, though there was nothing concrete in their move at that stage.
Adam Levanthal reported for The Athletic on Tuesday that Oxlade-Chamberlain could return to the Premier League before transfer deadline day later this month.
Besiktas are reportedly reviewing his options for a return to English football, and they’re open to a sale, though a loan deal is also on the table.
The good news for Oxlade-Chamberlain is that all parties seem to be on the same page, open to finding an “amicable solution” for him to return to the UK.
The former Gunner joined Besiktas from Liverpool last summer, and he made 30 appearances for the Super Lig club, scoring four goals.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made 198 appearances for Arsenal in a six-year spell before going on to make 146 for Liverpool over the following six years.
