The PFA have announced their six nominees for PFA Young Player of the Year, with Bukayo Saka on the shortlist for the award.

Saka is joined by Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Joao Pedro.

Unlike many other football awards, the PFA Young Player of the Year award is chosen by the players. Saka already won it in 2022/23, and he’s in with a shot at winning it again this time around.

Saka scored 16 goals and assisting a further nine for Arsenal in 35 Premier League appearances last season, helping the Gunners to challenge for the title.

Even when he wasn’t scoring or assisting, Saka was a consistent threat and a big part of what made the team effective in 2023/24.

The PFA will announce the winner of the year’s Young Player of the Year award on August 20th, 2024.

Saka’s Young Player of the Year award in 2022/23 made him the first Arsenal player to receive the accolade since Jack Wilshere in 2010/11. The only other Gunner to earn the award this side of the turn of the millennium was Cesc Fabregas in 2007/08.
