Former Gunner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could return to the Premier League this summer, with current club Besiktas open to a sale.
Adam Levanthal reports for The Athletic that former Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could return to the Premier League before transfer deadline day later this month.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s current club Besiktas are reportedly reviewing his options for a return to English football, and they’re open to a sale.
Whether a sale is possible remains to be seen, with clubs also exploring the terms of a potential loan deal.
The good news for Oxlade-Chamberlain is that all parties seem to be on the same page, open to finding an “amicable solution” for him to return to the UK.
The former Gunner joined Besiktas from Liverpool last summer, and he made 30 appearances for the Super Lig club, scoring four goals.
Now in his thirties, the midfielder is moving towards the tail end of his career, and it seems he’s hoping to spend some more time playing back in his home country while he still can.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made 198 appearances for Arsenal in a six-year spell before going on to make 146 for Liverpool over the following six years.
It’s unlikely either of those clubs will be in for him this time around, but it seems other English clubs are now making enquiries.
