Brooke Norton-Cuffy is set to join Genoa in a permanent transfer, with details of the deal emerging including add-ons and a sell-on clause.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Monday morning that Genoa have agreed a permanent deal for the signing of academy 20-year-old Brooke Norton-Cuffy from Arsenal.
Fabrizio Romano added that Arsenal will receive a €2m (£1.71m) fixed fee for the deal, plus add-ons, with a medical booked for later this week.
Nizaar Kinsella of BBC Sport then reported that the total fee including add-ons is £3.5m, adding that there’s also a sell-on clause in the deal.
In summary, Arsenal will get around £1.7m upfront for the transfer, with a possible further £1.8m to come if Norton-Cuffy hits his add-on targets with Genoa. If they then sell him later, Arsenal will take a share of the profits.
Norton-Cuffy spent last season on loan with Millwall in the Championship, playing 40 times, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
The defender was consistently in the Millwall starting lineup for the first half of the season, but he was generally used as a substitute from February onwards.
After his return from Millwall, Norton-Cuffy held back from participation with Arsenal in pre-season as he looked to secure a transfer elsewhere.
Assuming all goes well with the medical, that deal should now be done this week.
