Manchester United’s Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund have both been ruled out of the start of the Premier League season after their injuries against Arsenal.
Manchester United pair Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund both picked up injuries in their recent friendly match against Arsenal, and they’ve each since received bad news on their setbacks.
Sky Sports News report that Yoro has been ruled out for around three months with a foot injury, whilst Hojlund will miss six weeks with a hamstring problem.
Initially, Hojlund’s injury was believed to be minor, only ruling him out for two or three weeks. But further assessments have sidelined him for a month and a half.
The injuries are unlikely to affect Arsenal directly, despite both players missing at least a month of action.
The Gunners don’t face Manchester United in a league fixture until December 3rd, over four months from now.
United aren’t in the Champions League, and the FA Cup doesn’t kick off for Premier League teams until January, so there’s no prospect of an imminent meeting in either of those competitions.
Of course, it’s possible that Arsenal could draw United in the League Cup, with the third round taking place in mid-September.
That seems like the only Arsenal game Yoro could realistically miss, and Hojlund should be back by then.
